https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S075333222301853X?via%3Dihub
"The median number of HCQ-related deaths in Belgium, Turkey, France, Italy, Spain, and the USA was 240 (range not estimable), 95 (range 92–128), 199 (range not estimable), 1822 (range 1170–2063), 1895 (range 1475–2094) and 12739 (3244− 15570), respectively"

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.01.18.24301464v1.full-text
"previous findings did not adequately address dose-subgroup and sensitivity analyses which precludes any overall firm conclusions on in-hospital mortality attributable to HCQ"
"Only high dose regimens of HCQ are associated with a significant increase in mortality"
"Applying an excess of mortality in the population treated with doses where no increase of mortality is found creates a misleading overestimation of deaths associated with the use of HCQ in hospitalized patients with COVID-19.
"On the other hand, even at low doses HCQ regimen, no reduction in mortality with HCQ was observed suggesting that, when it comes to mortality as the outcome, HCQ did not show a benefit in hospitalized patients suffering from COVID-19."

"After assessing all the information at this stage, and the extent and depth of the criticism, the Editor-in-Chief has made the decision to change approach and handle this matter through the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) process for corrections to the scientific record: "
